Now, I know we are right in the middle of our Summer Wedding Season... but if you are getting married this winter and haven't yet thought of your bridesmaid dresses... right now is the time to do so!

The truth is, weddings are no longer only spring and summer events. The popularity of “off season” winter weddings are increasing, and why not? Between the sparkling snow, twinkling lights and glowing fires, there is so much to love about the romantic ambiance. If that wasn’t enough to convince you, don’t forget that off peak weddings = off peak pricing!

With so much to consider while planning, we’re here to help. Here are the best winter wedding bridesmaid dress trends for you!

Textiles

Keep your bridesmaids stylish and warm by incorporating unique textiles into your maids’ ensembles. Although the reception may be indoors, don’t miss out on the chance to get some winter wonderland photo ops. Add a faux fur shawl, a fluffy wrap or velvet cloak to keep your party comfortable and smiling while capturing stunning, outdoor photos.

Frosty colours

Don’t feel bound to a traditional holiday palette of white, red and green. Ditch the stereotypes and dress your girls in some wintery tones. Think slate and silver and how they can add to the enchanting winter theme. There is no doubt you will get some gorgeous photographs with a wintery scenic background in these gowns!

Floor length

Do your bridesmaids a favour and choose a floor length dress. The fabric doesn’t need to be too thick that it will weigh you down, because even just adding some extra length helps to keep the chills away. This solution is flattering, elegant AND practical - what more could you ask for?

A Sweet Autumn Brunch Wedding

Niagara on the Lake Wedding Planner

Leigh & Stu's Brunch Wedding at Queenston Heights

Leigh and Stu's Wedding is one I will remember for a long time.  It was one that really touched my heart.  It was so full of love and really inspired me.  Leigh struggled with cancer at a young age and she was worried she would never have a wedding day... but with hope and determination she had the loveliest wedding day with the man that stole her heart.  They met the cutest way... Leigh saw Stu outside one day playing basketball with his son.  Determined to make an impression.. she made him cookies!  Obviously it worked!  & seriously how couldn't it!

Leigh and Stu got up bright and early to get ready for their Wedding Day.  They had their First Look at the Mackenzie Printery at 8:30 am.  As guests arrived at their Ceremony they were greeted by the sounds of bagpipes.  Their Ceremony took place at 10:30 am with a Mimosa hour directly after within the gardens at Queenston Heights.

The reception tables were decorated with hollowed out white pumpkins filled with flowers.  The head table had a lovely piece of driftwood along the front.  During brunch, guests were surprised by a special guest.  A Soldier arrived and started asking the guests trivia questions about the war of 1812.  Afterwards, the guests were asked to join the soldiers outside to watch a musket demonstration.  As guests exited the Restaurant they walked through a Girl Guides Honour Guard.  Leigh is a group leader and some of her girl guides arrived to see her on her special day.

To end the morning, Leigh and Stu cut their cake and enjoyed a bite with the adorable forks that Leigh purchased from a craft show back when she was in high school and kept them to use one day on her Wedding day.
