Katie & Ned - August - Kurtz Orchards

A Lovely Wedding at Gracewood Estates

Katie and Ned live in England but Katie was born here and Canada, so they decided to come to Niagara for their wedding.  Unfortunately, they were one of my weddings that had to postpone due to Covid.  It just made their new wedding date that much more special when it finally arrived.  The ladies arrived at Gracewood Estates at 8:00am to start their hair and make up while the guys got ready at White Oaks.

After Katie was dressed and ready, she had a first look with her bridesmaids and then her bridesmaids gifted her an album full of memories and photos.  Katie then shared a first look with her dad.  After he first look with her dad, Katie and Ned shared their first look.  Another first look took place right after Katie and Ned saw each other for the first time on their wedding day, and that was with their adorable son Avery.

Their ceremony took place under a large oak tree near the pear orchard.  The tree was beautifully draped with chiffon and the ceremony space was decorated with wooden crates, candles in varying heights and sizes and plants.

After the ceremony, guests enjoyed cocktail hour within the gardens before heading to the orchard to enjoy dinner as they dined al fresco.  Each place setting had a little bundle tied up with twine and a sprig of dried eucalyptus, which included the place card, menu and a card explaining that in lieu of favours, a donation was being made.  Speeches took place between courses.  At the end of dinner, our bride and groom shared their speech and then made their way to an outdoor dance floor and shared their first dance as husband and wife under string lights and surrounded by their family and friends who were all holding sparklers.  After their first dance, everyone made their way into the tent and the dance party began.
