Loveleen & Keenan's Fallsview Westernized Sikh Wedding
Loveleen and Keenan wanted a Fallsview Wedding where all of their guests could enjoy the beauty which is the Niagara Falls. Their wedding celebrations began a couple of days before their Wedding with Loveleen and Keenan enjoying their Mehndi Ceremony and getting their henna done.
The day before their Wedding, family and friends gathered for numerous ceremonial rituals.
The Gana is a Sikh ritual where a red thread is tied to the bride’s left and groom’s right hand. It is said to be sacred and protect them from bad omens. The Maiyan ceremony is a short traditional Sikh pre-wedding ritual where the bride and groom are covered in a mixture of turmeric powder and yogurt to give them glowing skin for their wedding day. During the Jaggo ceremony, copper vessels called "gaffers" are decorated with divas (clay lamps), filled with mustard oil, and lit. The bride's maternal aunt carries it on her head, as someone else carries a long stick with bells, which they shake. Everyone celebrated and danced the evening away!
On the day of their Wedding, both Loveleen and Keenan got ready in separate rooms at the Sheraton on the Falls. You couldn't help but have complete heart eyes when watching these gorgeous ladies get ready in their stunning dresses. Loveleen was an absolute bombshell in not only 1 but 2 amazing dresses on her wedding day. Keenan also donned 2 different suits, each matching Loveleen's dresses.
The ceremony took place at Oakes Garden Theatre. A lovely arbour was set up at the alter in front of the majestic Niagara Falls. Keenan waited in front of the stage for Loveleen and they walked around and up onto the stage together. The ceremony brought together aspects from both a Traditional Western ceremony and a Sikh ceremony. They exchanged their vows, rings and floral garlands.
Guests enjoyed cocktail hour in the same fallsview room that the Jaggo took place in the evening before while photos were being taken throughout Oakes Garden Theatre and the Secret Gardens.
Guests entered the Grand Ballroom at The Sheraton on the Falls for the dinner reception which was beautifully decorated in Gold and Pink. Loveleen and Keenan had a grand entrance on the stage in the Ballroom and went directly into their First Dance. Speeches took place throughout dinner. Dinner was a buffet full of incredible Indian dishes. After dinner, guests were surprised by an amazing surprise dance. The dance floor then erupted and literally everyone was out on the dance floor dancing! It was definitely a party I will never forget.
