Courtney & Josh - August - Ravine Vineyard

Summer Loving at Ravine Vineyard

Before I dive in and tell you about Courtney and Josh's Wedding Day, I must first talk about their rehearsal.  Courtney and Josh's rehearsal dinner was probably the most enjoyable rehearsal dinner I have ever attended.  The rehearsal itself took place at 11 am at Ravine.  I stepped in as the officiant for the rehearsal as I often do.  After the ceremony rehearsal, we went for lunch at Peller Estates Winery.  Courtney's parents arranged for a delicious lunch with wine pairings in a private room at the Winery.  I sat at the end of the table with Courtney's family around me and I have never felt so welcome by anyone else's family as I did with them.  It was an absolute pleasure hearing their stories and getting to know them all.  A lot of couples feel like they need to have their rehearsal in the evening followed by a dinner.  I personally believe a morning rehearsal with a lovely lunch is better.  Then you can spend your afternoon more relaxed and enjoying the company of your family and wedding party by going to the spa, or going golfing, or enjoying a wine tour, etc.

Back to Courtney and Josh's Wedding... Their day started off with them both getting ready at separate AirBnBs.  Their Ceremony time was scheduled for 5:00 pm, so this gave them plenty of time to enjoy their day without rushing.  They had their First Look at 3:00 pm among the vines at Ravine Vineyard.  After their First Look, they enjoyed photos with each other, their Maid of Honour and Best Man as well as their immediate family.

Before guests started to arrive, Courtney escaped to the bridal suite while Josh and his Best Man greeted guests as they arrived.  The ceremony was lovely and included live music via an acoustic guitar.  A seat in the front row was left empty with a sign as a beautiful tribute to Josh's father who had passed away.  After the Ceremony, guests listened to live music on the terrace while they enjoyed cocktail hour.

In between courses, there were speeches.  During one speech, Courtney's dad and brother had presented Courtney and Josh with a sword which is traditionally used in their family to cut the cake.  It was really fun for all of their guests to watch them cut their cake with the sword!  In between courses, Courtney and Josh also escaped for a few moments to take advantage of the gorgeous light outside as the sun was going down.  Those photos are my favourites from their wedding!

After dinner, the band started and the dance floor started rocking.  It was a wonderful wedding and I wish a lifetime of happiness for Courtney and Josh and their wonderful families.
