Kate Spade Inspired 30th Birthday Party

Kate Spade #jenniespurdy30 Party

The Niagara region is full of so many Wonderful Wedding Professionals and yet not often enough do we get the chance to see each other outside of Weddings, to kick off our heels and to get the chance to get to know one another and our spouses on a more personal level.  So for my 30th birthday this year, that's what I wanted... A Formal Cocktail Party where all my wedding professional friends would come together with our spouses to eat, drink, dance and totally let loose! I wanted the cocktail party to be formal yet fun, a true representation of who I am.  Being a Wedding and Event planner, I LOVE planning gorgeous events.  And what is more gorgeous than Kate Spade?  Pink, black, gold and glitter; bows, champagne and a whole lot of sparkle and you’ve got an evening of true fabulousness! And so, the inspiration for our cocktail party was born!

Guests received a lovely Kate Spade inspired gold foil invitation designed
by Defining Moments.  They were instructed to dress in black, gold or pink
formal attire.  And so the shopping sprees began! Upon entering, guests
were greeted with hors d’oeuvres created by Chef Abbey who appeared on
Chopped Canada.  Every aspect of the party had Kate Spade written all over
it.  From the striped straws with fun straw flags to the gold striped
water pitcher, the black and white striped votive candles and the Kate
Spade cocktail napkins.  The lounge area with white leather sofas had
black and white striped pillows.  The napkins were folded in the shape of
a bow. The linens, provided by Gala Décor were sequins and stripes!  The
tables were covered in gold confetti and each one was adorned by a
fabulous Kate Spade quote.  The incredible floral provided by Bloom & Co.
made the room pop with its gorgeous pink colours.  There was a photo area
with Kate Spade inspired props.  The Sweets Table by Above and Beyond
Cupcakes was my favourite part!  Everything was delicious… believe me; I
think I tried everything at least once!  Right in the middle of the
fabulous table was a playful cake with black and white stripes, edible
gold sequins and a pink bow.  Other table highlights included, gold
glitter donuts, pink and champagne macaroons, cotton candy, chocolate
dipped strawberries, chocolate dipped oreos, chocolate dipped pretzels,
cake pops, cupcakes and cookies.  Guests drank pink champagne and danced
the night away to the music performed by the Madhatters.  At the end of
the night, each guest was treated to a gift to bring home, a sinfully
delicious gold glitter donut by Sweet Celebrations.  The evening details,
and all its gorgeousness was photographed by Andrea, of Andrea’s
Impressions Photography.

  1. What makes this event planner really great, is how she can handle a crisis. 3 weeks before my wedding date, my mother suffered a medical emergency that required surgery and subsequent hospital recovery. The planner was extremely crucial in helping us cancel the vendors, pick a later date and then re-confirming all the little details that we had set up originally.
