Virgin Voyages First Mate Familiarization Trip

Day 3

Cozumel is a small island located off the coast of Mexico's Yucatan Peninsula. It's known for its crystal-clear waters, white sand beaches, and vibrant marine life. If you're into snorkeling or scuba diving, Cozumel is the perfect destination for you. The island is home to some of the best snorkeling and diving spots in the world. You can explore the Mesoamerican Barrier Reef, the second-largest barrier reef in the world, or swim with whale sharks, which are only found in a few places in the world.

We decided not to do any on shore excursions during our trip and instead wanted to start our day in Cozumel with a little walk to explore the area around the port where we docked. After some exploring, we hopped into a taxi and headed out to Paradise Beach Club for a day at the Beach. I must say, that taxi ride was a wild one. All the windows were fully open and I don't think our driver was aware of the speed limit... It was a little windy in there! So windy in fact that Angela's sunglasses flew off her face!

I would highly suggest the Paradise Beach Club to anyone wanting to spend their port day at a beach. For $64 USD it includes your drinks and food. We enjoyed a few tropical cocktails and yummy tacos while laying out in the sun. There is a beautiful pool as well as huge floating waterpark, kayaks and paddle boards that you can use with the addition of the fun pass.

After a relaxing day out in the sun and sand, we headed back to the ship and got ready for our dinner at Razzle Dazzle. The food was delicious! After dinner, we went to The Manor to watch the Festival Stage Act taking place during our sailing which was a singing comedian named Brian O'Sullivan. It was alright, definitely wouldn't say it was the best show but it was a good spot to enjoy a drink after a long day in the sun. Afterwards we went up to The Galley for some dessert before calling it a night.

Tomorrow I will be telling you about Day 4 which was Scarlet Night on our sailing! The day where everyone on board is wearing red!
